Preventive Health Clinic

A portion of the McSweeney Senior Center is devoted to a program that will offer comprehensive preventive health screenings and physical exams for seniors. An emphasis is placed on detecting early indications of illness, promoting good health, and offering health education programs. All senior citizens can receive these services. A suggested contribution fee is assigned to each service. A comminity nurse, a Windham Hospital nurse, and a geriatric physician with advanced training and education in caring for the older adult provide all services at the McSweeney Senior Center. All information is kept strictly confidential and is only given out with permission from an individual. These services are not a replacement for an individual's physician. Consultations and referrals should be followed up by an appointment with the individual's physician of choice. Services include but are not limited to:

Recreational Services

McSweeney Regional Senior Center offers a wide variety of recreational programs. These programs are designed to provide companionship, entertainment, socialization, and enjoyment for all seniors. All activities are scheduled in advance and can be found on the calendar page. All seniors are encouraged to participate in our programs, come on down for one programs or several. Some costs will apply depending upon the program. Most programs are free of charge. Programs include but are not limited to

McSweeney Elderly Dental Clinic

McSweeney Elderly Dental Clinic provides to all persons 60 years of age and over all phases of general dentistry which ranges from routine dental examinations, prophylaxis (cleaning), restorations (fillings), root canals, extractions, crowns, bridges, partial plates, full dentures and their repair. McSweeney Elderly Dental Clinic is designed to make an impact on the dental care and treatment of the senior population in the Windham and northeast regions. The clinic is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:00am to 3:00pm by appointment only. Apointments can be made by calling (860) 423-4524. The dental staff at the clinic are dedicated and caring professionals and are concerned with the well-being of seniors. Patients receiving services at the clinic are asked to contribute to the Dental Clinic's support. Suggested contributions are asked on a sliding scale based upon a senior's self-declared income. McSweeney Elderly Dental Clinic accepts payment from private dental plans as well as payment from Medicaid (Title 19).
